  well i haven't been here in a long old while, but was browsing around youtube and stumbled across a channel called jehovah's witnesses downloads which appears to be an official cache of propaganda uploaded by the borganization.

  I guess you are a "Rubbish gay" or you would have chosen "Fabulousboy" for your name here. Seriously, its so unfortunte that this life is full of disdain for those who aren't like all the rest. Its the way we safegaurd the promulgation of our species and perfectly reasonable that such pressures exist on a basic level, not a conscious one. It's when people do not change thier thinking when they learn its not necessary in all cases and they can relax you will find understanding. Stay happy.

  i am just wondering about all of you who have been on this site for long.

  in all of the events that have happened since 2000 (for example, september 11th), have you at any point, even you die-hard apostates, felt like "oooh sh!t... i should go back to the kh"... just to have the world survive the latest disaster?.

  what was the worst event for you, in terms of saying... "did i mess up???

  NVR2L8 Got it right. So often people on here misapply the WT BS and then bitch because the WT isn't saying what they expected. Just so we all have it straight, the world political system made up of all human government is THE WILD BEAST. That is what unites into the IMAGE of THE WILD BEAST. So strictly speaking the WILD BEAST IS NOT THE U.N.. The article wasn't talking about the U.N. specifically. It seems the WT crap is hard to get right for those of us who dont eat it up anymore. If in doubt, look it up before doing two pages of innacurate or misapplied analysis. Lurkers will see us as lacking credibility.

  did you have any favourite books by the society when you were in ?not that this book was my fav.

  yet it was the first book i read learning about jw`s.

  " from paradise lost to paradise regained " i know , it was designed for the young , however my mentor thought that since i had no understaning of the bible it was what i needed.

  I agree with BU2B on the Commentary on James. The only observations I had about it was that if you followed that sort of unselfishness among Jehovah's Witnesses you would be the one person in the congregation that everybody took advantage of and used, need I say screwed over and out of anything of value. They borrow and dont return, or borrow and return broken without explination or offer of replacing. They want to borrow, not repay, take it to the elders who tell you dont go to court, just forgive. (I noticed that they NEVER loan money.)

  In a perfect world the advice given in that book would be invaluable. I do think that the book stressed christian values more than any WT book. Of course it was written by an eventual apostate, go figure.

  I have found that the mind numbing boredom of these talks is broken by an occasional quasi-applicable joke or humorous quote like that. Those talks are the ones that are always spoken of afterwards as being "the best". And why not? Its the closest thing to leaving the dogma trail for a chuckle all day. A speaker like that is worth his weight in gold.

  in acts chapter 1the question was raised: 6 so when they had assembled, they asked him: lord, are you restoring the kingdom to israel at this time?

  7 he said to them: it does not belong to you to know the times or seasons that the father has placed in his own jurisdiction.. notice jesus never said thered be a change in venue, just that it wasnt up to them to know when..... so what is there from both sides?
